"There isn't anything wrong with our relationship" was what Harlem had to keep telling herself over and over. Careers and dreams would never get into the way of Harlem's feelings for Tyler. Ever. She was in love with Tyler Kent. It was supposed to be that way. Even ever since they were teens. But Har couldn't help but have a little bit of doubt about them... it just seemed like all Tyler could think about nowadays was him and Chris's band, and how he was so glad music started to work for him. Ofcourse, Harlem loved and supported his music and everything he wanted to do in life, but sometimes it could just be... annoying. He would just go on and on for hours and she'd nod a couple times with a few "uh huh"'s thrown in.
There was not anybody else in the world she'd rather be with. Well, okay, Harlem wouldn't lie, there was the new boy, Westin Hurley. But he was never serious. Just a one nighter kind of guy. And that was basically fine with Harlem to just be physical with him. He was cute, funny, and decent enough. Lately the paparazzi had been all over her about the "harler" relationship and why nobody had spotted the "happy couple" walking around downtown L.A. together. Harlem had simply replied "We have both been very busy with our careers and I assure you, we plan on staying together for a lot longer.", while most guys would get spooked at that comment, Tyler didn't.
Sure, Tyler was the type of irresponsible band boy who just didn't care. He also didn't care what people said. But Harlem knew that Tyler knew they would always be together. She couldn't imagine herself with anyone else. This one boy, had her life. Her virginity, her heart, her appartment, her fame; everything. It was well worth it, wasn't it? Yes, she loved him, she really did. Looking back into the past, she saw them again, as stupid teenagers. Ofcourse they were also with Chris and ROY. It was sort of like their little clique.
Oh the stupid things those young kids would do. Actually they still do. Basically the same things are happening. Roy and Chris making and breaking up. Always fights. Drinking. All the same stuff from high school. Wasn't Harlem supposed to be a grown up now though? She was finishing her last year of college... modeling, getting her own photography studio, and earning income. A responsible, and serious boyfriend. Although, she had to admit, her "grown-up" brother, VANITY, didn't care much for Tyler. Even though he was the one who helped the whole Vanity family cope through when Mrs. Vanity passed away. Harlem's father ran, and her brother just stayed distant.
But she wouldn't worry about stupid shit like growing up and deaths tonight. It was her time, with her boyfriend. Tyler and Harlem weren't gonna let anything get to them. She snuggled herself deeper into his rock hard but heated chest. "So how is Chris and the band going lately?" she asked, curious, while they were watching the basketball game on telivision. To Harlem, sports on tv were just a bunch of pictures. Okay, so maybe bringing up the topic he droned on about all the time wasn't a good idea, BUT what else was there to say? Hopefully Tyler would just answer "good" and ask Harlem how school and photography and modeling was going. That was normal, right?
All of their previously recent dates had been very very boring. Tyler only kissed her once when he said goodbye. And he always seemed to stare out into space, and be thinking about something else. Something more important than the girl he loved, Harlem always thought. She knew Tyler loved music just as much, if not more, but really? Have some balance in life. No, Harlem did not want Tyler Kent and her to end. Never did she want it too. But if he was this distant from her, she feared she might HAVE to. Drama was the last thing she needed....

TYLER KENTif there's a crime we'll keep it a secret but there's only trace amounts left in your blood■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Maybe Tyler had been a bit…distracted lately, but it wasn’t really his fault, was it? His life had just been on hiper drive, with all the changes…but the changes were for the good, he knew that much. And they weren’t going to effect and relationship he and Harlem had…of course he didn’t notice that it already kind of had, but whatever. To him everything was great. His music was going great, he still had amazing friends, everything was completely fine. He didn’t even notice when his constant chatter about music annoyed his girlfriend…it wasn’t like he didn’t care, he was just too busy being happier than he had been in…forever.
He was so happy he didn’t even realize that lately he’d kind of been being a shitty boyfriend.
Before music had completely taken over his life Harlem was really all he had…sure, he had his other friends, but the main thing that kept him going was Harlem. But now she wasn’t the main part of his life, anymore…well, she was, but she had to share that little space in his heart with another thing. He never even wondered how that would make her feel…the transition had just felt so normal for him.
With his eyes glued on the television he felt his girlfriend snuggled up against him, and allowed a small smile to form on his lips, but he didn’t move his eyes away as he slung an arm around her. He wasn’t much of a sports guy, actually he barely understood what was going on, but it made him feel more manly to stare at the TV and cheer for the winning team every now and then. As he heard her voice, he allowed his eyes to wander away from their target for a while, and let them rest on Harlem’s face, before they found their way back to the television. He was assuming someone had just scored, as the crowd was going wild, but he could care less in that exact moment…because, of course, Harlem had asked about the one thing that could make him ramble on for hours upon end.
“Oh, god, it’s going great!” He replied, cheerfully, his cute smile appearing on his face, as he ran a hand through his slightly messy brown hair. “I mean, I never would have thought…but, yeah, I’m really happy. It’s going good.” Nodding his head up and down, he decided to just drop the subject at that before he completely annoyed her with rambling about different chords and songs. “But, enough about me. How’s…whatever you do going?” He was only teasing, as he poked her in the side, then turned his head back to the television.
He really wasn’t a completely horrible boyfriend, he knew what Harlem was up to most of the time. Her photography, and school, and such. He’d just been so overwhelmed lately that he realized in tha tmoment, that even though he did know what was going on with her…he didn’t really know how it was going. And so he shifted his attention from the game, back to his girlfriend, and even though he wanted nothing more than to let his mind drift to the new song he was supposed to be working on, he forced himself to listen to what Harlem was saying…even if in his little mind music was just as important as Harlem.

Harlem sighed as Tyler just stared out into the telivision screen. But she knew him too well, he hated sports, he was obviously thinking about something else. Even when she leaned into him she had felt every muscle go tense, although it seemed he put his arm around her in the most casual fashion. Obviously anyone who knew the two well could tell there was something wrong. No, just no. Harlem was not going to let this get to her.
As Tyler started to talk about his music, Har could see his face light up. Sure, it was what made him happy. So when he was happy Harlem was. She grinned as his soft velvet voice, he was talented at singing too, but that was mostly Chris' job. And it changed. In a sort of... forced, and un-natural way, Tyler changed the topic. Something he never usually did. And he seemed... unhappy and uncomfortable. Harlem didnt want to see him that way. In the litte six-year-old way, she giggled at his joke and kissed him softly, then held onto his messy brown caramel colored hair and staring into his soft eyes.
Harlem could just stare into those big brown comforting eyes for days. It really didn't matter to her. She wanted Tyler, all the time, in any condition. It didn't matter to her really, she loved him, and that was it. No matter how many Westin's or Zeke's there were, Tyler would always be the one there for her.

TYLER KENTif there's a crime we'll keep it a secret but there's only trace amounts left in your blood■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Really, Tyler didn’t quite notice that there was anything wrong with their relationship…but he was more than a little distracted lately. He didn’t quite realize that maybe he wasn’t being the best boyfriend ever lately. That he’d kind of been pulling away from her without even knowing he was doing it…he just had so much on his mind. The band, the changes that where going on in his life…but he couldn’t imagine being with anyone but Harlem. No matter how distant he was being, he never, ever cheated on her. He politely refused the girls that threw themselves at him at clubs, even when he was completely trashed…because he loved Harlem, even if he wasn’t always acting like it lately. You just didn’t do that to people you loved.
Or at least Tyler didn’t.
When Harlem kissed him, though, it washed away every doubt that he may or may not have been having about their relationship. He loved her! Of course he did. And she loved him, too, even though he’d heard a rumor or two about her flirting with other guys…but that was no big deal. That was just Harlem. He could tell by the way that she looked into his eyes after pulling away from the kiss that she really, truly loved him. That they were meant to be, no matter who tried to get between the two of them. Tyler wrapped Harlem, wrapping her up in a tight bear hug that he hoped was saying everything he was thinking.
