LET'S DO SOMETHING CRAZY i've been thinking lately ▪ ▫ ▪ ▫ ▪ ▫
Alanah was walking around in downtown L.A, looking for something to do. Large sunglasses hid her face as to keep the fans away. Don't get me wrong, Alanah loved meeting her fans. But she had her days where she wanted to just be a normal person. Today was one of those days. So she was out and about, sunglasses hiding her face and no one bothering her. It was pretty nice to be a normal person like this. Not that she wasn't a normal person in general. She just...had more money. Had talent. Was able to be one of the few people in this world who actually made it big.
But of course, making it big had a price. No privacy. Well, not as much privacy as she liked. If she wasn't wearing her sunglasses she would be...swarmed. Swarmed by all the loving fans she had. Alanah loved her fans, she really did. They were pretty much the reason she was the person she was. But they got a bit crazy at times. Too crazy for her to handle.
It was getting hot out. Alanah was hot, even though she was in one of her favourite summer dresses. So she decided to head into one of her favourite places that had air conditioning. The best thing in the world, even if it used energy, which contributed to global warming. But anyways...the place was Barney's. And it was right down the street, thank god. Alanah scurried forward a bit quicker, her tiny feet taking her into the store, a happy sigh escaping her lips. She made her way throughout the store, a bit bored. She actually hadn't brought her wallet on this little outing. Which was incredibly stupid. Alanah just hoped she would run into a friend or something, make the little trip a bit more fun.

SO TELL ME BABY, PRETTY BABY, how to stay strong and carry you home
alanah thompson was a nice-enough brand new actress. lucky her, she made it big, unlike the other rejected 500 actresses who applied for her first job. harlem was in barney's, looking for a dress to buy; tyler was taking her out to dinner tomorrow night, someplace nice. she felt excited, and worried at the same time. was tyler going to be distant and barely at the table again? or would he be the sweet loving guy harlem fell in love with? well no, she should re-phrase that, she doesn't believe in love.
strictly relationships, not love. harlem didn't like to believe those stupid three words that were tossed around, meaninglessly. who cared? hell, 10 year olds would say that nowadays. if anybody said it to her, she knew it was merely a stupid joke. you could never mean something as serious as that. although, she was still pretty sure she loved tyler.... sometimes. but definetly not these days. all she heard was him babbling on about his music and how it's not working out.
big deal, your parents are famous. congrats, welcome to fame. now just stick to looking pretty for cameras and spending your daddy's money, while having a cute little scene girlfriend who just adores you. why not leave it at that? could life get much better? harlem suddenly saw a familiar face, stride into the store, smiling. even though the girl was wearing sunglasses, stars noticed each other. it was alanah thompson. harlem's brother's friend. she had heard they were actually pretty close.
on gossip girl, there were stupid rumors that the couple was dating. although it was totally false, because harlem would know, her older brother would trust and tell her this information, right? although, it had been a while since the siblings even shared a meal. it had probably been a couple weeks almost. harlem wasn't used to it, the comfort of her older brother felt... well, comforting. like she still had a dad or influence above her. but smoking and drinking had become a bad habit of hers. anyways, har decided to say hi. she walked up slowly to approach the tall, slim, girl. " hi, alanah, right? " harlem said, under her breath. lately she had been feeling so, so, out of things. " i'm harlem vanity, you're good friends with my brother, right? " she asked lightly.

Alanah shifted through the racks, grabbing a few pairs of jeans, a pretty top or two. She probably wouldn't buy anything...just try it on for fun. Even though she had enough money. Probably more than enough, she tried to save it. What if her mom got sick later on in life? Well then, Alanah would be there, with the money to help. She definitely wasn't the type of 'celebrity' who went around flashing their cash. The most expensive things she had were probably one of her purses, her house...and maybe her cell phone. Other than that, not much. Most of her clothes were from Forever 21 or dELiAs. Both of which, were definitely not expensive stores. Whenever she came into Barney's, it was mostly to have fun...or if she had a special event coming up.
Sadly, she didn't have a special even coming up in the next few weeks, which kind of sucked. Alanah loved dressing up and going out. Award shows were her favourite. Some celebrities hated the award shows. Thinking that it was boring sitting around stiffly for hours on end, smiling endlessly and such. But to Alanah...it was heaven. Well, not heaven exactly. But still, it was pretty fun. Hopefully an event would pop up soon, even though all the good ones were at the beginning of the year.
Alanah saw someone approaching her, and she hoped it wasn't a fan. Because one fan would attract another fan, which would attract another, and another, and another...until there were far too many people around her. Once the girl introduced herself though, Alanah's face went into a relaxed smile. "Hey." She said, extending her hand. She had probably met Harlem once or twice, when she was hanging out with her brother...but they didn't really know each other that well. "Yup, we're friends." She told her, a small blush on her cheeks.
Sadly, she and Harlem's brother were only friends. Though many thought they were more, it sadly wasn't true. And that upset Alanah since she was kind of...falling in love with him. Which was kind of awkward, considering he was like a big brother to her. And most likely, she was just a little sister to him. Nothing more. And it probably would never be anything more, sadly enough.
